Design master Basic Apple Guy released extraordinarily intricate, layered iPhone 14 schematic wallpapers in a range of colors. The A16 chip, which I haven’t displayed in these schematics till now, is their star component. I designed the Pro schematics with an exposed logic board by taking all I learnt from building the M2 MacBook Air schematic. Normally, this component is covered to protect the electronics when it is inside the phone, however after seeing the deconstruction, I couldn’t resist trying to reproduce it for the wallpaper. I estimated that it might require a few extra hours of effort and several hundred extra pieces for the design. I misfired. The logic board on the iPhone 14 Pro schematics is one of my most complicated components to date with 2,367 pieces, and I spent a ton of time finishing this job. However, it was entirely worthwhile because it ended up being this project’s stunning hallmark piece.
The TrueDepth camera, Infrared Camera, and Dot Projector concealed behind the Dynamic Island are a few elements of this concept you’ll hardly ever see. Every time you unlock your iPhone or close an app, these fragments drop and hide behind the Dynamic Island, even though you rarely notice them. These wallpapers might be a logical outgrowth of my penchant for getting lost in the innumerable small details of things. Moreover, these wallpapers have greatly increased my appreciation for the iPhone. The iPhone seems like a simple piece of metal and glass from the outside (an extraordinary slab, mind you). The device feels so much more special as I build these and realize the tens of thousands of connections and layers between all the parts.
